Beacham, Deborah
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Hello, my name is Deborah and I'm an Ofsted registered childminder, living in Fraddon.  At my latest inspection I was graded outstanding by Ofsted.  I live with my husband and little boy who is 6 years old.  We are a non smoking house and we don't have any pets.

Before becoming a childminder I worked as a nanny for 18 years, gaining experience of newborns through to teenagers.

I hold a full enhanced DBS, paediatric first aid, safeguarding and food hygiene certificates.

I offer a warm, secure, safe and nurturing environment to your child.

Our days will be filled with lots of fun activities and outings. These will include sensory play, arts + crafts, singing + dancing and role play.  As well as regular outings to places such as beaches, woods, parks, soft play, Lost Gardens of Heligan, library, stay and play group and many more.

Early Years Local Offer response

Learning and development

Systems and strategies we have in place to identify children that may require additional support

At initial introductions and selling in sessions I will obtain information from the parents about their child's stages of development. This will be followed up by regular observations using the EYFS outcomes.

How we identify and support children's learning and development needs

Through observations I can make an assessment and identify next steps. I will continually review and update progress against the EYFS.

Communication with parent's is in person and via email, WhatsApp and text messaging. I am always available to discuss issues with parents as they arise.

Links we have to other agencies

I am able to contact health visitor, social services and the family information service if required.

How we support children transferring to school

I will work closely with the child and parent to develop their independent skills needed to transition to school. I will support their letter and number learning. I will help them to gain the confidence to be able to ask questions when needed.

Welfare

Specialist skills or training our staff have

I keep up to date with regular training that is relevant to childminding.

Support we offer regarding children's health and well-being

I encourage healthy eating, plenty of fresh air and regular physical activity.

Ways we inform parents about how their child is being supported

I chat with the parents at each drop off and pick up. I send photos and videos direct to parents via WhatsApp.

Our complaints policy

I have a complaints procedure in place. I display the Ofsted parents poster in the porch.

Access

Alterations we have made to make our building accessible

No alterations. Steps into the house are visible. Parking is available at the front of the house.

Facilities we have for personal care

I have an upstairs bathroom which has a step to help children use the toilet and wash their hands. Soap and individual drying towels are used and disposed of after one use. There is an integrated toddler toilet seat. I use individual bedding in cots for children's naps.

Specialist resources we have

I have a low level play table and a range of toys and books for all ages and development needs.

How we include all children in activities, such as trips

I undertake activities that are appropriate for the children attending the setting on that particular day. I plan, risk assess and am organised with all the correct equipment for the outing .I use age and weight appropriate car seats to ensure children are transported safely.
