How we make our service inclusive

Although we are an outdoor site all buildings/classrooms have been adapted to offer accessibility. We have just received funding to install wheelchair accessible pathways to the outdoor spaces.

Staff SEND experience

Our staff are trained to understand the needs of young people with SEND and their families. Our education officer is a qualified teacher with training in SEND.  Our Learning Support Assistants are also up to date in this training.

How our service supports providers / schools / colleges

We support providers with all aspects of a learners transition to our learning programme. We provide them with information about our services on offer and attend careers fayres and transition events.

Support at key transition points

We provide taster sessions at the Orchard and are flexible in adapting to the needs of the student. We maintain regular contact with families and will meet with parents/carers/guardians in the run up to the transition and throughout their learning journey with us.

Resolving disagreements, mediation and making complaints

We have a complaints procedure for all programmes on offer at the Orchard.
