Open Door Training and Day Care Centre
Do you want to learn or increase valuable life skills? Would you like to gain real work experience in the catering trade?
The Open Door community cafe is part of the work of the charity Mustard Seed, and for the past 32 years have worked alongside vulnerable people in our community to encourage and help build the potential in each person we support.
Our training program works to assist each person we support to work at a level and pace that is comfortable yet encourages and challenges each person to 'give it a go', in a safe and supportive environment.
As you progress through our training program you will learn the importance of food safety, health and safety and working as part of a team. We will encourage you to learn many of the different tasks of running a small catering business, which will also help you to meet and engage with new people from many different back grounds.
We believe that you will be able to learn skills that will help you to live a more independent life and grow in self confidence too!
