Welcome to St Mark’s C of E Primary School, Morwenstow. We are a Voluntary Aided Church of England Primary School with about 85 children, spread over 3 classes. The school was founded in 1844 by Parson Hawker, the local priest, writer and poet. He is probably best known as the founder of the modern Harvest Festival in 1843 and for his ballad “The Song of the Western Men”. We take pride in continuing the tradition he founded, by providing the highest quality education for our children.
The school is part of the Bude Community Schools Trust (BCST) and works in partnership with other local schools. The Pre-school, with its own modern, dedicated building, is now an integral part of St Mark’s School, ensuring a seamless high quality education for children aged 3 – 11 years.
