The Gathering - Goonhilly Village Green
Goonhilly Village Green will re-form for one day only in 2019! See the site come alive with ideas, information and artwork at The Gathering
About this Event
Drop into the Village Green Society’s Lecture & Screening Programme in the Happidrome; take part in guided walks and hands-on activities exploring different aspects of the site; and discover new artworks commissioned for the project including: a Camera Obscura offering a new way of viewing the Downs created by Oliver Raymond Barker; ‘The Goonhilly Village Green Chronicle’ produced by Phyllida Bluemel, and a radio broadcast about Goonhilly Village Green by Bram Thomas Arnold.
The following artists have also been working with local organisations and community groups since autumn 2018 to create new commissions for the event:
- Paul Chaney & Natural England
- Sara Bowler & Trelowarren Cornwall
- Beth Emily Richards & Museum of Cornish Life
- Rosanna Martin & Lizard Outreach Trust
- James Hankey & Goonhilly Earth Station & Goonhilly Heritage Society.
There will be food stalls at the Village Green and you are welcome to bring picnics. Well behaved dogs on leads also welcome.
Parking will be available on the Goonhilly Earth Station Ltd site and in the National Nature Reserve car park.
