Sarah's Pisky Pals Childminding (Sarah Wengradt)
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

My name is Sarah and I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder. I hold s full enhanced DBS, Paediatric Level 3 First Aid, Safeguarding  Level 3 & Food Hygiene level 2.

I live with my young Daughter (7 yes) and our fur baby Teddy a mixed breed little dog.

I have a compact house, which allows me to have a free flow system of the downstairs. The children have full access to the playroom, which offers a huge variety of toys/resources. I also have an extensive range of sensory toys and craft.

My garden is fully enclosed and full of outdoor toys and facilities, such as a playhouse, small trampoline, swing & slide.

Our daily routines- Toddler groups, soft play, parks, beaches, local walks, Princess Pavilion, Maritime Museum, National Trust visits, Heligan Gardens, Eden project, forest/nature walks.

As well as bringing up my own Daughter, I have experience of working with young children in a local Primary school and have been a Foster Carer.

I will offer a warm, cosy, secure, safe and nurturing environment. Providing that home from home service for your little ones, whilst supporting your child’s learning/development through these early years of their lives.

Early Years Local Offer response

Learning and development

Systems and strategies we have in place to identify children that may require additional support

At initial introductions and settling in sessions I will obtain as much information from the parent about the child's stages of development,  By Using All About Me form and a Starting Points In Learning & Development form for parents to complete. This will be followed up by regular observation using the EYFS outcomes.

How we identify and support children's learning and development needs

Through observation I can make an assessment and identify next steps.

Links we have to other agencies

Health visitor, Speech & Language Therapy, Family Information Service.

Any concerns or additional needs would be discussed in depth with the parents before seeking professional advise/support.

How we support children transferring to school

I will work closely with the child and parent to develop their independent skills needed to transition into school. For example- gripping a pen/pencil, using a knife/fork, being able to put on their own coat and zip/button up, use the toilet correctly, wash and dry hands. I will support their letter and number learning. I will help them to gain the confidence to be able to ask questions when needed.

Specialist skills or training our staff have

I keep up to date with regular training that is relevant to Childminding.

Support we offer regarding children's health and well-being

I encourage healthy eating, plenty of fresh air and exercise.

Ways we inform parents about how their child is being supported

I do a daily diary that goes home with the child and returns to me at the next session.

I do a verbal handover at the end of every session.

I communicate pictures and videos direct to the parent.

I record observations using a digital online journal.

Our complaints policy

Every client has a copy of my complaints procedure. I encourage good relations between myself and the parents and advise they talk to me always about any issues/concerns that may arise.

Alterations we have made to make our building accessible

No alterations.

Facilities we have for personal care

Two travel cots. Bathroom facilities. Anti bacterial hand soaps and gels. Individual drying cloths. Poty, toddler toilet seats, toddler step.

Specialist resources we have

Single buggy, double buggy, car seats for different ages, travel cots, walkers, high chairs, booster chairs, reins.

A wide range of toys for all ages and development needs.

How we include all children in activities, such as trips

Planning, risk assessment and be extremely organised with all the right equipment for the outing. All ages of children are to be considered before decision on destination.
