Interested in Volunteering with BISC?

If you would like to be part of the BISC team in your local area, get in touch!

We are always looking for new volunteers.

Ours teams consist of:

Meet and Greet Volunteers: people who are passionate about supporting breastfeeding families; a friendly, welcoming face, who helps peer supporters to set up and run each group session; to make sure everybody who attends feels included and is seen by a peer supporter.

Peer Supporters: people who have personal experience in feeding breastmilk to their children, who use their own experiences and the training provided by BISC, to support other families. We work closely with Health Visiting Teams and Midwives, we are trained in Safeguarding and have regular DBS checks and update training.

We run training courses several times a year at different locations throughout Cornwall, depending on demand and need of each area. Many of our meet and greet volunteers go on to train as peer supporters.

During the Covid crisis our groups are closed and we are not able to provide training courses, however, if you would like to get involved in the future, please get in touch to find out more and to join the waiting list. We will then be in touch with you as soon as we are able to sign up new volunteers.
