Budehaven Community School
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Budehaven Community School is located on the beautiful north Cornwall coast in the town of Bude. We are proud to be a fully comprehensive school, providing education to students from ages 11 to 19. Our school also benefits from a thriving Sixth Form, Area Resource Base and Integrated Health Centre.

As a co-operative school, we have many partners from local primaries, to secondary schools nationally, and a successful partnership with Assossa, Ethiopia.

Our school is a vibrant community. If you take a walk around our school you can expect to be captivated by the works of art from local artists and our own students, displayed in our Bistro Art Gallery and around our school corridors; see exhibitions of great quality student work on our Wall of Excellence and in our classrooms; see the school’s competitive spirit in the House competition Team Aspire dashboard; hear about or see our elite athletes (who compete nationally and internationally); listen to music and singing from one of our Live Lounge events.

We are proud to have been judged to be a GOOD school by Ofsted (February, 2017). Our students achieve well: younger students follow a mastery curriculum in Key Stage 3 that prepares them well for the challenges of GCSEs; our Year 11 students achieved GCSE results in 2016 that place the school above national standards with the threshold standard (English and Maths). We are very proud of our Sixth Form, where our students gain top A Level and BTec results. These have placed our Sixth Form in the top 10% of sixth form providers nationally (ALPS , August 2016). Every year our students go on to Oxbridge, Russell Group, national and international universities.

Budehaven students and staff are proud of our school. We are ambitious for our students, academically and for their development into curious young people. Our students look beyond their locality, look at the world in wonder, and become thoughtful and productive members of society.
