Mrs Michelle Langley
Hello My name is Michelle Langley
My children in the setting call me Shell.
Follow the track down to an old farm house nestled in between fields woodland and rivers. Inside your find a play room full of beautiful wooden toys with a wooden kitchen for role play , with storage unit for children to choose the toys they wish to play with, dolls, puzzles, garage, cars, bricks, Duplo and much more .On your journey through say hello to Pumpkin the budgie and Dennis the small and lovable dog.
As you come into the Kitchen there’s a large table for lots of creative messy play, with two free standing trays one with kinetic sand or water the other with shaving foam , glop or playdough. The kitchen is light and airy with a bio fold door leading to a large enclosed garden with patio with ride on cars and tractors, mud kitchen vegetable patch and flowers for picking.
On arrival you’re hear the Children talking and riding their push bikes alongside Dennis and I as we walk. We will talk about the sounds we can hear on our journey. The buzzing of the bees, the cows mooing, sheep bleating and the birds singing the rustling of the wind. The children rhyme words with what they can spot on their journey bramble damble. We may recall stories -were going on bear hunt. We may go through sticky mud, run through grass with wild flowers and jump in a puddle or two .Float homemade boats down rivers, we might fall get wet and stung by a stinger and that’s just me but we’ve explored , had fun, used energy that we didn’t know we had and seen the wonders of nature the squirrel, the fungus growing huge the deer jumping the rabbits hiding as we approach. We may have just been children for the day care free, safe, cared for and loved and able to lead. On our journey we’ve learnt to help our new found friendships climb over some branches squeezing through gaps in the hedges.
So what have we learnt today to respect the environment care for people around us , self-help skills, leadership, we have built on our imaginations , learnt safety , learnt the importance of health and fitness, we have learnt about the natural world, learnt how to concentrate and listen, to take turns, to communicate , to be sociable , how words can rhyme how they sound explore have ago , motivation, perseverance.
But our journey does not end here………….
The farm is working farm seeing sheep being sheared, cows being moved around and fed, chicks and ducklings hatching! Children loading incubators watching them hatch holding young hatchlings feeding them caring for them respecting living creatures. Pond dipping, frogs, dragon flys, skater bugs.
So lets write a story lets take photos lets stick them on paper, draw pictures write words.
But well we write we sing we use puppets tapping sticks pots and pans my day has never finished and I look forward to this time I’m able to have fun see the smiling faces the buzz for more its exciting but it doesn’t last for ever your grow flourish and become a 4 year old ready to go to school but well you’re here your be a child forever !
