Specialist Employability Support (for the Visually Impaired)
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

The SES Programme is unlike any other employment related programme.  As it is specifically targeted at Visually Impaired Individuals.  They will work with our team of experts in visual impairment and employment and will be supported every step of the way in helping them find sustainable employment.

No two customers are the same, this means that no two customer journeys are the same, this means we tailor the support to the participant and they can choose the amount and type of support they need and receive it in the place that best suits them.

Through participating in the programme we will design a flexible package of training ans support to access vocation training courses, the opportunity to undertake hands-on work in a real-life situation to enhance customers CV's and employability.  We will also work to find the assistive technology most suited to customer needs so that the customer can use their when they enter employment.  During the programme we will help participant to develop the skills they need to succeed, put them in touch with employers who recognise what they have to offer and support them every step of the way.  We will discuss work experience to date, skills and the barriers that have been found to seeking employment and the type of work that participants would like to do.

How we make our service inclusive

As we are a peripatetic provision , we tailor the service to the participant and therefore, arrange the necessary access and adaptations that may be required around this

Staff SEND experience

All our Staff have Level 3 Advise and Guidance qualifications.  We are also a signposting provision, and therefore ensure that whoever we signpost the participants too also have the necessary support and qualifications required.

How our service supports providers / schools / colleges

On this programme we are a support provision for the Royal National College for the Blind and they are also a support service to ourselves.  therefore is a participant wished to attend the College for the Blind then this would be facilitated.

Support at key transition points

Our service fully supports families, children and young people at key transition periods, with one to one support throughout there time on the programme.  If we were unable to supply this support then we would signpost to the relevant specialist provision

Other local or national support

We have a network of 50plus support providers within Cornwal, and on this programme specific links with I-Sight Cornwall.  Plus Nationally we link with the Royal National College for the Blind in Hereford.
