I am an Ofsted Recognised 'Outstanding' Early Years Setting Provider. I am currently in my 30th year of happy and rewarding Child Minding.
In September 2017 I decided to reduce my hours to rap around school hours and school holidays.
I live in a small hamlet on the outskirts of Tintagel in Cornwall. Designated rooms on the ground floor are used for childminding. There is a fully enclosed garden for outside play eg wendy house,duplo table with bricks, sandpit & water play.
I provide a welcome environment where children's welfare and development is met.
The premises are safe and suitable for children before/after school care and school holiday provision.
The space is organised to meet the children's development & welfare needs. Heating, ventilation, natural light & cleanliness
is provided in all areas. lt is my job to provide a safe & fair environment in which children are aware of consistent boundaries are valued and have opportunity to take responsibility.
I have many resources to occupy the children. Games , Toy farm & animals, Zoo with wild animals, jig-saws, colouring
painting, playdough, train sets, Duplo, dolls/babies. Worksheets - Farming in Cornwall, Fire safety, Beach Safety &
Level 2 in food safety in catering, October 2018 7 hours.

The first stage is to meet with parent/carer and discuss the child's needs and complete the personal needs form.
Child record forms are completed any special likes and dislikes.
- How we identify and support children's learning and development needs
I complete a 'Development Matters' Assessment Sheet linked with the Early Years Foundation Stage, with the child to monitor their individual needs four times a year. I also use the Child Monitoring Tool for 'Communication and Language' to plan and provide more accurate support for each child to make good progress. Each child has their own personal 'Learning Journey' book which contains observations, pictures and work done by the child.
- Links we have to other agencies
I work together with 'Tintangels' Pre-school at Tintagel, Tintagel Primary School and the Early Years Service, and Health Visitors. I regularly attend courses run by the Early Years Service.
- How we support children transferring to school
Liaise with the Primary School and take the children to events at the school such as Sports Days, School Plays and Harvest Festivals, in order to familiarise the child with the school. The younger children will get to socialise with school age children attending for afterschool and holiday care in order to build up relationships. The child will share their 'Learning Journey' with the new school teacher on commencing school. I have attended a course with the Early Years Service 'Developing Transitions.'

Support parents in ensuring dietary instructions are followed; physical activities; healthy eating education; hygiene policies including use of antibacterial hand gel and hand wash and availability of tissues; changing mat regularly santitised; fire safety drills regularly performed with fire exits and plan in place; car seats for all ages; risk assessments performed; child protection policy in place.

Parents are shown around the childcare setting and informed of all the policies and procedures in place.

The policy is for parents to discuss their complaint with me in person or in writing in order that it can be resolved. I also have the Ofsted poster displayed with the telephone number to whom complaints can be made should parents wish to do this.
