Manaccan Primary School
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Our school  is situated on the Lizard Peninsula in a delightful area of outstanding natural beauty.  The countryside, near by Helford River and the beach at St Anthony, offer a wealth of educational opportunities for the study of wildlife, geography and geology and we take advantage of that as much as we possibly can with forest school type activities, like Welly Wednesday's for the Busy Bee class.

Manaccan School prides itself on providing a warm, welcoming and caring environment in which every child can feel happy, safe, secure and valued.  Children are encouraged to enjoy school life to the full, to respond to the needs of others, to be hardworking, independent learners who take pride in their work and are praised for their efforts.

At its heart is the school’s commitment to raising standards.  The leadership team and staff strive to build on the school’s successes, and welcome the involvement of parents in its endeavours to meet the needs of the children, nurture their individual strengths, and lay down firm foundations for future life.  The school capitalises on its strong links with the local community and beyond.

The main building of the school is a Victorian building circa 1896.  At its height there were 114 pupils taught in the two classrooms, and children were educated here until they reached 14 years old.

The main building has been modernised and extended over recent years. Outside facilities include a playground and a school garden of approximately ¼ acre which has wooded outdoor play equipment courtesy of a recent Awards for All lottery grant.  In addition, the school has access to a playing field complete with two superb tennis/netball courts and a small pavilion with toilets, showers and kitchen facilities.
