Allen, Mrs Karen Linda
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Able to provide funded places for 2, 3 and 4 year olds.

Member of PACEY. Member and mentor for Quality Childminding Cornwall group. Graded outstanding in all areas by Ofsted at last inspection (Feb 2020) Member of Healthy Under 5s.

I take professional development very seriously and courses to date include NVQ 3 Childcare, Learning and Development; Level 2 Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health, Level 2 Understanding Challenging Behaviour, ICP, DCP, ECP, Paediatric First Aid, Child Protection Awareness, Birth to Three Matters, Child Nutrition, Child Development, Sing and Sign, SCHEMAS, Food Hygiene, Exploring Cultures, Developmental Co-ordination Disorder, Learning Language and Loving It, CAF, Autism Awareness and many others. I am also a member of the Early Childhood Mathematics Group and have started a professional development programme in Language and Literacy for 2-4year olds.

I believe in child led play and learning involving outdoors and nature as much as possible and am near completion of the Hygge In The Early Years accreditation. We have a very friendly cat, free-ranging rabbit and two African Land Snails, all of who are very much part of the children’s day to day fun and learning.

I have a large playroom with lots of resources to have fun with and to promote everyone’s learning and development. I have recently updated and refreshed my outdoor provision so have areas for children to learn, engage and have fun with their friends including safe grassy and decked areas, spaces for growing flowers, herbs and vegetables, play house, patio and messy play area and well-resourced play den.

I have taken hygiene and the risks associated with the Covid-19 pandemic with the utmost care and attention and all areas and activities are thoroughly risk-assessed with facilities for regular hand washing, sanitising and cleaning whilst children still have the freedom to have fun and take part in the activities they enjoy the most.
