First Wave Adventures offers; overnight school residentials, group activity days and target group intervention packages . Based at Great Western Beach and, as an AALA registered provider, you can rest assured your pupils will be safe hands.  All instructors are activity-accredited, DBS-checked, and qualified lifeguards, with considerable experience of working with the children of all ages and abilities.  All equipment is provided, inclusive in your package.

First Wave Adventures have the expected safeguarding procedures, as well as an Anti -Bullying Policy, which pupils are introduced to at the start of a course.  Risk assessments are of course available to schools and parents.

First Wave Adventures Activity Centre is based at Great Western Beach in Newquay.  As one of Newquay's most central beaches and with its natural cove-like setting, it's the perfect base for an activity centre.

Seaside Award:  Great Western Beach was awarded its first Seaside Award in 2017. This is a nationwide standard award for the best beaches across the UK. This award is a symbol of quality which ensures visitors are guaranteed to find a clean, safe, attractive and well-managed coastal stretch.  Click here for more information.

Dogs:  well behaved dogs and responsible owners are welcome. Dog bags are available from the surf school office.

Parking: there are public car parks located near Great Western beach.  There are no parking facilities on the beach or vehicle access to the beach.

Beach Access:  this is via an inclining tarmac path beside the Great Western Hotel on Cliff Road, or along the sands at low tide. Please check tide times before hand.

Toilets:  there are public toilets on the beach which are open 10am until 6pm during the summer months - please note these may close in the winter.

Lifeguards: this beach has RNLI lifeguards from late May until the first week of October.
