Emma's Childcare
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Hello and welcome to Emma's Childcare!

My name is Emma, I'm 35 years old and I'm a OFSTED registered childminder in Falmouth. I have been registered since October 2016.

I have 15 years experience within childcare from newborns onwards. I am passionate about children and helping them learn, develop and grow.

Before I opened my own childcare business I worked in a nursery as the baby room leader. However I also worked in all areas throughout the nursery with all different ages of children from 2 year olds to the pre-school children.

I have also been a nanny and I'm a babysitter too !

I like to think I provide a home-from-home feel, where children in my care feel safe and secure in homely surroundings, where they can express themselves in whichever way they like, where they can learn and develop at their own pace through an enabling environment. The children in my care have A LOT of fun while also learning at their own pace.

I provide a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities and go on LOTS of outings. In the mornings we take trips to the beach, walks through the woods and have fun at the local parks - they are just a few outings that your child(ren) would be enjoying while in my care, which promote all areas of learning from the EYFS.

Early Years Local Offer response

Learning and development

Systems and strategies we have in place to identify children that may require additional support

I regularly make observations and termly assessments on children using the Early Years Foundation Stage outcomes.

How we identify and support children's learning and development needs

I use the Early Years Foundation Stage phases of development and use my observations and information from parents and other settings, if relevant.  I also keep up to date with any relevant training.

Links we have to other agencies

I will work with other services and agencies if the need arises.

How we support children transferring to school

I keep learning journeys for each individual child and these are passed on to the teacher at the school when the child is transferring so the teacher can see where the child is at in terms of their learning and development.

Welfare

Specialist skills or training our staff have

I am Paediactric first aid trained also SENCo trained. I have previous experience with children in a nursery environment.

Support we offer regarding children's health and well-being

I encourage each individual child to enjoy exercise, running, jumping, skipping, climbing, and to enjoy being outdoors in the fresh air and encourage healthy eating, with healthy lunches and snacks.

Ways we inform parents about how their child is being supported

With the use of a daily diary and daily verbal communication including weekly emails.

Our complaints policy

I have a complaints policy which parents can request to see. I do encourage parents in the first instance to come and speak with me, if they have a complaint.

I have made no alterations to make my building accessible, I already have wheelchair access around to the back garden if necessary, this is also pushchair friendly.
