Variety

With such a wide variety of career development courses, we can help you to realise your professional goals. Qualifications vary from entry-level awards up to Postgraduate Degrees, in subjects ranging through psychology and social science to finance, first aid, IT and many more. Sign up for an afternoon seminar, a week-long workshop or a full-time award programme with us to receive outstanding tuition from our dedicated staff and industry experts.

Business Skills Workshops

If you’re looking to train your employees or wanting to expand your own skills, we have many one-day workshops, short courses and seminars on offer. Delivered by our expert staff, these workshops allow you to learn, refresh or hone your abilities in areas such as social media marketing, risk management and using computer programs. These courses are a great way to build your skill set and increase your employability, or equip your staff with the professional knowledge they need to excel in your business.

Professional Qualifications

We offer qualifications from entry to degree level in a wide range of professional disciplines, such as health and safety, HR, engineering and social care - to name but a few. Working in small, interactive groups ensures that you get the one-to-one tutoring you need to optimise the learning experience, while benefitting from a supportive peer environment. As well as gaining an industry-recognised qualification, you’ll develop the knowledge and experience you need to progress in a professional role. We design our courses with employers and local business leaders so that students complete their study with the best employment prospects.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are available to anyone over 16 years of age and aren’t subject to academic requirements, meaning that they’re great for learning a new trade or progressing in your existing career while continuing to earn a wage. Working closely with companies across Cornwall, we’re proud to offer over 40 apprenticeship programmes across a variety of industries, from jewellery making to gym instruction to creative media to accounting. While receiving support and tuition from industry experts in the workplace, you’ll also complete a course with the College, giving you a healthy balance of theoretical and practical study. This translates into an in-depth working knowledge, valuable hands-on experience and an industry-recognised qualification.

As an employer, you can enrol your existing staff in an apprenticeship scheme. We'll work with you to cultivate their skills and develop your business. With government subsidies for the hiring and coaching costs of apprenticeships, this is a great and affordable way to train staff. Or you can hire one of our industrious apprentices to bring enthusiasm and fresh ideas to your company.

Degree-level short courses

Our SUCCESS programmes are based on modules from our degree courses, focusing on key business and management practices. Each course can be taken alone, allowing you or your staff to hone role-specific skills, or combined with two further SUCCESS courses to create a tailor-made employee development programme in areas such as event management, HR and business enterprise. Each course is accredited by Plymouth University, and on completing a three-part SUCCESS programme you’ll receive a Plymouth University Certificate of Professional Development (CPD).
