James, Mrs Denise
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

I have been childminding for over 20 years. I offer 2, 3 and 4 year old funding.

With the assistance of my daughter I am able to provide a greater range of activities to stimulate the children and offer extended care. I attend a variety of groups and undertake activities daily which including exploring woods, parks, leisure centre, childrens centre, library etc. I love being out and about with the children. I meet with other childminders at least once a week.
I received OUTSTANDING in my last three Ofsted inspections.
I have a dog, cats and chickens.

My home is designed to accomodate the needs of the children, situated within a very large safe and secure garden. There is an extensive range of toys and equipment for use inside & out. A large decked area enables the children to extend their play and learning to the outdoors all year round. The children have opportunity to explore and grow their own vegetables in the vegetable garden.

Early Years Local Offer response

Learning and development

Systems and strategies we have in place to identify children that may require additional support

I work very closely with parent to gain a picture of child development and achievements. Regular observations help to build a picture of their development levels. This helps to spot if any additional help is required

How we identify and support children's learning and development needs

By working closely with parents, observations, training, support from other professionals and using the EYFS framework

Links we have to other agencies

By completing numerous training courses as well as linking up with other professional. I have links with teachers, social workers, health visitors, children centres as well as childminder network

How we support children transferring to school

I work very closely to ensure the children are school ready. Encouraging the independent skills that they will need. The children in my care regularly visit school as we have daily pick ups.

Welfare

Specialist skills or training our staff have

I ensure that myself and Laura are up to date with safeguarding, child protection, first aid and food hygiene. We are trained for the use of Epi pens and are willing to undertake any training to benefit the setting as necessary.

Support we offer regarding children's health and well-being

I risk assess all activities that the children take part in wether at home or on an outing. Children are encouraged to eat healthy from the fruit and veg they have grown. We are regularly out and about using the local woods, park soft play, my large garden space to keep the children as active as possible.

Ways we inform parents about how their child is being supported

I have a very open relationship with all parents and we keep each other upto date about what we are doing. We regularly communicate through daily diaries, learning journals, text as well as talking daily. Parents are shown written polices as to how I will keep their children safe.

Our complaints policy

I have a written policy which informs parents what to do if they wish to make a complaint and how we would work together to resolve any issues.

Access

Alterations we have made to make our building accessible

I work from a bungalow which has a ramp and flat area to the front door. A wide door to accommodate wheelchairs and double buggies.

Facilities we have for personal care

Rooms are all on one level with easy to the bathroom with child usable facilities.

Specialist resources we have

We have a wide range of age and ability appropriate toys and always looking for new resources.

How we include all children in activities, such as trips

Always ensure that my practise and environment are inclusive to all. All activities adapted to include all ages and abilities.
