Crawford, Louise
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
OFSTED rated good. Spaces available now. I am a fun and friendly person with bags of energy. I'm offering a cosy and caring home from home experience with lots of trips out and about. I have just finished a ten year career in teaching and I have three of my own children so I have a wealth of experience of education and development. I work alongside a lovely assistant whom all the children adore. This means I have space for a total of 6 children of non school age a day. We pride ourselves on a very high quality of care with a wide variety of activities. My house is beautiful and spacious and light. Come and visit and see for yourself.

Early Years Local Offer response
- Systems and strategies we have in place to identify children that may require additional support
Children in my care are regularly assessed against the EYFS outcomes for development. Through close partnership with parents and support of other early years providers any children requiring additional support will be identified.
- How we identify and support children's learning and development needs
Regular assessment, close partnership with parents, planning for next steps, regular training and support of my own professional development, recruiting support from outside agencies, support and guidance of other childminders.
- Links we have to other agencies
Strong links with childminding network. Close links with local primary school and pre-school, regular attender of children s center. I have used the early help hub and health care professionals for advice.
- How we support children transferring to school
Well maintained learning journals packed with information. Close liaison with the schools.
Learning and development
- Specialist skills or training our staff have
I have taught in secondary schools for ten years so have alot of experience teaching children with a variety of needs. I have had less involvement with early years identification but feel I have a strong understanding of childrens growth and development and would spot early signs of a child needing intervention.
- Support we offer regarding children's health and well-being
I provide a caring cosy home environment to nurture and support growth and development. We have lots of activity built into our routines and lots of reading and singing. We eat healthy snacks and make sure we get plenty of quality rest. Children's basic hygiene needs are met, in a clean environment. All seven areas of learning are targeted through play and excursions
- Ways we inform parents about how their child is being supported
Learning journals and termly feedback assessments. Daily diaries. Facebook closed group
- Our complaints policy
Accept them as positive constructive criticism. Deal with them maturely and person to person. Keep and record and inform OFSTED
Welfare
- Alterations we have made to make our building accessible
Removed large front step.
- Facilities we have for personal care
down stair toilet, baby changing facilities
- Specialist resources we have
none. I have sensory toys and am happy to purchase resources when needed.
- How we include all children in activities, such as trips
my ratios are small, we can all fit in my van.
