Elective Home Education Co-ordinators provide support and advice to families who have chosen to home educate their children.
- How we make our service inclusive
All elective home education co-ordinators are able to visit families in venues of their choice. Advice and support can also be given via the telephone or in writing.
- Staff SEND experience
All Elective Home Education Co-ordinators are experienced education professionals with a wide variety of experience in SEND fields.
- How our service supports providers / schools / colleges
Elective Home Education Co-ordinators will provide support and guidance for families who have chosen to return their children to school. however, primarily support is given to those families who are educating outside of the school network.
- Support at key transition points
Elective Home Education Co-ordinators will provide advice and support for families at transition points. Common discussions held may be about support from other agencies e.g Careers South West or a child returning to secondary school following a period of home education at primary level. Elective Home Education Co-ordinators can also give advice about exam boards should parents/carers wish to enter their children for formal exams.
- Other local or national support
There is support available both locally and nationally for parents who have made the decision to home educate their children.Please refer to the EHE booklet (link on the right hand side of the page) for a list of organisations.
