St Mark's Nursery

At St Mark’s Nursery we want each child to learn, have fun and build on their successes. By following the guidance of the Early Years Foundation Stage, we offer a healthy balance of adult and child led activities to help growth and development.

Our vision is to provide an environment which is both nurturing and fulfilling developmentally for all our two to four year olds.

We work closely with our families to make sure each individual child feels settled and happy and that we meet their needs. We collaborate closely with the Duckpool Class team, ensuring that each child’s transition into the academy is as smooth as can be.

Our free-flow ethos means that the children can choose whether they want to play indoors or outside in our all-weather area.

The pre-school itself consists of one large open plan play room with an all-weather patio leading off of it; a kitchen, office, entrance hall/cloakroom, children’s toilets and disabled/adult toilets. Outside it has its own small fenced area with grass for playing on and a raised planting area.

In addition to this, the children also have regular access to the school playground (where they have their own shed for storing large wheeled toys), the playing field, the Science garden and the Nature Reserve.

The children also have weekly activities to work with the children in class 3 (the EYFS and KS1) either in school or pre-school.

We are pleased to offer funded part and full-time nursery sessions as well as highly competitive paid sessions for children aged 2, 3 and 4 years.

Our opening times are Monday to Thursday 8.45am – 3.15pm

Built in 2011, the pre-school is well equipped to welcome children who have physical needs; with wide doors, level access and disabled toilet facilities.
