Community Child Health Department

Community Paediatricians work specifically with children with individual needs across the county.

We have training and experience in working with children who have physical disability (e.g. cerebral palsy), learning difficulties, social communication disorders (e.g. autism) and other long-term disability.

We work very closely with other health professionals like the therapists and also with non-health specialists working in education and social care.

Our aim is to assist children with individual needs to achieve their full potential by working closely with their families and other agencies.

We contribute to statutory processes in education (e.g. statements and annual reviews) and often liase with schools.

We also have a role in protecting the health and safety of vulnerable children including those at risk from harm and those children not living at home.

For further information please call the medical secretaries.
