Early Years Local Offer response

Learning and development

Systems and strategies we have in place to identify children that may require additional support

Regular tracking and discussions with parents including regular baseline tracking by parents. This will ensure that we can identify any gaps in learning and address them with an Individual Education Plan and/or appropriate external agencies.

How we identify and support children's learning and development needs

Regular observations and tracking to create next steps. I work alongside parents to gain their insight in to their children's development and learning. Resources and activities are then tailored towards each individual child.

Links we have to other agencies

I am a member of the QCC and have the support of a local childminding mentor and the childminding team in Torpoint.

How we support children transferring to school

I will help children to become more independent, for example attending toileting needs themselves, dressing and helping to serve their own lunch. I will also communicate with the school with regards to developmental records.

Welfare

Specialist skills or training our staff have

Happy to undertake any required

Support we offer regarding children's health and well-being

My policies and procedures outline my responsibilities in regards to infectious diseases, medication and illnesses.

I provide healthy snacks and encourage parents to provide a well balanced healthy lunch.

There is a downstairs toilet with a step to encourage independent access.

During every day activities I discuss with children about how we can do things safely.

Ways we inform parents about how their child is being supported

Regular formal feedback using What To Expect When as a parent friendly document to track development. I use Baby Days to record observations which immediately links up to the parent.

Our complaints policy

I hope that you are happy with the service that I provide, but I appreciate there may be times when I am not offering you and your child the service that you require.

I hope that you will feel able to discuss any concerns or issues that you may have with me directly. If you would rather not talk in front of your child then we can arrange a more convenient time, for example in the evening or at the weekend.

It is a requirement by Ofsted that all complaints are logged along with the outcome and any action taken, these records must be available to show an Ofsted Childcare Inspector if required.

If you feel that you are unable to talk to me, or that after talking, the matter remains unresolved then you can put your complaint in writing, I will investigate the matter and reply to you within 28 days.

If you wish to make a formal complaint then you can contact the Ofsted Complaints and Investigation Unit on Tel: 0300 123 1231 or contact Ofsted at: Piccadilly Gate, Store Street, Manchester M1 2WD.
