St Teath Preschool is a purpose built childrens centre located within a rural village. Children have exclusive use of an enclosed garden area including a new forest garden area, along with access to the playing/football field and park located next to our building.
Activities are planned relating to children's interests and in accordance with the EYFS.
We have spaces available for children from the age of one years old and can offer spaces for children with two year old funding/30 hour extended funding and basic 15 hours and 30 hour funding for 3/4 year olds.
Awarded Good by Ofsted - June 2016.

Early Years Local Offer response
- Systems and strategies we have in place to identify children that may require additional support
Parent/carer to complete child information forms prior to their child attending alongside new starter meetings. Staff complete Observation sheets, Tracking sheets (each half term), Next step sheets. Each child has a Key Persons.
- How we identify and support children's learning and development needs
Through observations, next step sheets and discussions between key persons and parents/carers. Working with our Local Education Health and Social Care Coordinator for advice and guidance.
- Links we have to other agencies
At St Teath Preschool we work with the Speech and Language Team, Children's Centre, Educational Health and social Care Coordinator, Early Years Inclusion Team, Locality Senco and healthy under 5's team.
- How we support children transferring to school
We liaise with the local primary school and the reception class teacher. We organise transition days for the group moving up to school to help with settling in and getting to know their new teachers. We also provide the reception teacher with 'moving on' sheets which provide details of the current development stage and likes/dislikes of each child. The reception teacher also visits the Preschool to introduce herself to the transition children. The school use the same online learning platform ‘Tapestry’ so children’s learning journals are transferred and continued at school. We will liaise with alternative schools and pass on any relevant information/ accommodate meetings at the setting.
Learning and development

Five members of staff hold a Level 3 qualification in Childcare, we have an apprentice working towards her level 3 qualification. The preschool leader holds a level 6 BA Honours Degree in Professional Practice (Early Years) and the Deputy Manager holds a level 6 BA Honours Degree in Children, Schools and Families. All Staff have Paediatric first aid, Food safety, Manual handling, Health & Safety and Safeguarding training, as well as attending continuous professional development training such as Makaton, SENCO level 3 etc..
- Support we offer regarding children's health and well-being
St Teath Preschool is currently working with the Healthy under 5's team to achieve stickers in all areas of a child's health and well being.
- Ways we inform parents about how their child is being supported
Parent consultation meetings, feedback at the end of the day informing parents of their childs day. We also use Class Dojo every day to inform parents of what the children have been doing at pre school. we also use an online learning journal, Tapestry, which parents have instant access to.

St Teath preschool aims to bring all concerns raised to a satisfactory conclusion to achieve this we follow our complaints procedure of which a full copy is avaliable upon request.

St Teath Preschool is fully accessible and on one level.
- Facilities we have for personal care
Child height lavatories and sinks, we support potty training and work alongside parents to achieve a positive outcome. Accessible toilet for staff, visitor and parent use.
- How we include all children in activities, such as trips
St Teath Preschool maintain ratios at all times, we support childrens interests by providing activites which promote learning and development. During trips we have a higher adult to child ratio as well as parent support.
