Autistic Spectrum Disorder Assessment Team (ASDAT)
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
The Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessment Team (ASDAT) is an experienced multidisciplinary team for children and young people up to their 16th birthday who have complex social and communication difficulties.
The Autism Spectrum Disorders Assessment Team (ASDAT )is made up of the following disciplines:
- Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
- Community Paediatrics
- Clinical Psychology
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech & Language Therapy
with support from an administrator and a clinical team manager.
Children under 5 years 6 months can only be referred for ASD assessment through a joint agreement between a Community Paediatrician and the child’s Speech and Language Therapist, with those specific professionals making the referral. If the child is not already known to both these teams then a referral should be made to these specialists who will then decide with the family about autism assessment.
Further information can be found on the leaflet on the right-hand side of this page and also on the website.
