Lanivet Community Primary School
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Set in the centre of Cornwall, our small school caters for the children of the village of Lanivet, outlying farms and hamlets and children from larger towns who can benefit from the family atmosphere of which we are proud.
We pride ourselves on our involvement in the community involving activities in the church, chapel and local environment, concerts for our senior citizens, links with the Parish Council and Lanivet Charities and involving visiting guests in the children’s education. A highlight of the year is our annual pantomime performed by our KS2 children. So popular is it now that we have around 400 people attending the four performances.
We have a child-centered approach to education in which the child’s needs are placed first and we concentrate on raising the self-confidence and motivation of each child to do well. Our behaviour management is based on emphasizing the positive and drawing attention to what children are doing well, not on criticizing their faults. We follow the motto, ‘treat children as they might become, not as they are’.
