We are an OFSTED registered husband and wife run business, working in a beautiful location. We offer childcare for children aged three months to five years and are dedicated to providing the best service to families and their children in a safe, supportive environment. We take pride in planning exciting activities based on each child's individuals needs and interests. Our aim is to offer open-ended play opportunities through sensory and wooden toys (treasure baskets, building blocks etc) in a comfortable home-from-home environment. Parents are able to keep track of their child's day, learning and development through an EYFS interactive app.

Early Years Local Offer response
- Systems and strategies we have in place to identify children that may require additional support
We offer settling-in sessions of which the parent may stay on the first session. An informal discussion will be held to gain information about the child's likes, dislikes and what they are able to do. The parents will also have a starting point questionnaire to fill in. A two year progress report will be complied to share with the health visitor and a copy for their learning journal.
- How we identify and support children's learning and development needs
Learning journals are completed for all children and trackers are highlighted to show what stage the child is at with their development. We use the EYFS to plan for each child's next steps in their development. Learning journals are shared with parents and daily communications are had to explain what the daily routine has been and how the parents can support with the child's development at home.

When completing the two year check we will contact the health visitor to ask for any input they wish to offer.
- How we support children transferring to school
We support and prepare children for school by having lots of communication about their next step. If it is a local school that has a playgroup, we attend these to familiarise the child with the setting. In the past we have had dress up days where they can wear their school uniform to my house and we can have a day, similar to how it would be at school. We would talk about different emotions and try to help with their understanding of how their emotions may change or become more complex at school.
Learning and development

Mandatory training: paediatric first aid, Safeguarding and Child Protection, Food Hygiene. We regularly attend cluster meetings and training courses. Meeting with other childminders to help support each other.
- Support we offer regarding children's health and well-being
We offer a safe, risk assessed setting, that caters for all children. Our safeguarding and first aid training is constantly updated to ensure we offer the best possible service. We encourage healthy eating and love being outdoors, often visiting the beach, the zoo and local parks.
- Ways we inform parents about how their child is being supported
We have a very open relationship with all parents keeping each other up to date about what we are doing. We regularly communicate through daily diaries, learning journals, text as well as talking daily. Parents are shown written polices as to how we will keep their children safe.
- Our complaints policy
As required by OFSTED our setting has a comprehensive complaints policy. Verbal complaints that we cannot resolve are progressed using approved forms for parents/ cares to outline complaints. On receipt of a justified complaint the external agency involved would provided a timeline for resolution.
- Alterations we have made to make our building accessible
We have no steps into our property which is accessed by a flat driveway. The garden has rear access via a locked secure gate and internal access through a door off the kitchen.

We have a good sized downstairs WC with handwash basin for discreet personal care if required.
- Specialist resources we have
We have numerous sensory toys to help children develop and grow - however if we felt we needed specialist resources we would source as required.
- How we include all children in activities, such as trips
We ensure our practice and our environment is inclusive to all children. Children with additional needs are supported to participate in all activities with the other children, but we also aim to include some more specific games and activities for the child to enjoy which the other children can join in with too. When visiting places and going on trips, the places are risk assessed to include all children. We also complete a document of planning for these places, which includes a section on how we include a child with SEND.
