Little Lambs Childcare
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Little Lambs Childcare is a home based childcare setting based in Pentire, Newquay.
We are very lucky and the setting is on Pentire crescent which is a stones throw from the Gannel and Fistral beach, we are within walking distance of the town, all beaches and parks, and the boating lake.
We understand how important it is for your child to learn and develop and we hope to provide the best possible care and learning we can in a nurturing, home from home environment.
We do spend a lot of time exploring our local community, visiting different areas of interests to keep the children within our care excited and eager to learn.
We are a small setting but with a large space.
We operate from two playrooms, an under 2's area upstairs and over 2's downstairs, the children in our care will have access to a range of activities and toys for them to explore and enjoy.
We follow the Early years foundation stage and we are a play based setting, everything the children learn is through play and through their interests and ideas.
We have a garden which is well-appointed for the children in our care, with a climbing frame, bikes, mud kitchen, sand and water tray.
We have extensive experience with SEN.
We have extensive experience with food allergies and provide a dairy free and vegetarian menu.
We are all qualified or working towards childcare qualifications, DBS checked and First Aid trained.

Early Years Local Offer response
- Systems and strategies we have in place to identify children that may require additional support
Regular observations & assessments on each individual child to identify any areas where extra support may be needed.
- How we identify and support children's learning and development needs
Plan for their development through the observations taken and providing relevant and achievable next steps.
- Links we have to other agencies
Links are made with outside agencies where necessary
- How we support children transferring to school
Children are helped to develop their personal, emotional, social and physical skills to prepare them for school. They are helped to be independent in self-care, learn how to negotiate with others and take turns and are introduced to early literacy through fun activities. Transition meetings are held with teachers and we share the child's Learning Journey and assessments with the teachers to help them make a smooth transition.
Learning and development
- Specialist skills or training our staff have
All staff are trained in the relevant childcare areas or are in current training. All assistants have up to date paediatric first aid, food hygiene and safeguarding training.
- Support we offer regarding children's health and well-being
Children are provided with a healthy menu. We head out and about a lot and we enjoy fresh air and physical exercise.
- Ways we inform parents about how their child is being supported
We speak to the parents face to face on a daily basis, and have an online system for the children which parents can access 24/7 to see their child developments as we upload them. Parents can use this system to communicate with us.
- Our complaints policy
Policy on complaints is available upon request. We follow the guidelines set by OFSTED.
