Badger Forest School & Outdoor Learning
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

We believe in connecting people with nature and each other by providing exciting learning opportunities for children, families and young people in an beautiful outdoor environment. We use a range of woodland settings and beaches for beach school activities.

Forest school is specifically designed to improve self-esteem, confidence, independence, creativity and has a positive impact to wellbeing.

We work with schools, pre-schools, home-education groups, mother and baby, parents and toddlers and families.

Alternative Provision: Our Nurture programme for children struggling to access the curriculum is proving to be highly successful. We offer one to one and small groups. We also run holiday clubs throughout the school holidays and bespoke birthday parties in a variety of locations.

We are based at Cardinham Woods and have a partnership with the Forestry England and have recently partnered up with Wheal Martyn in St. Austell. Have a look at our sister organisation Choose Nature CIC for more info and funded sessions.

We can run sessions in most outdoor settings. Some of our activities include;

  • campfires
  • den building
  • nature crafts
  • team building
  • mud kitchen
  • woodland safaris
  • basic bushcraft and lots more

We hope to see you all soon for some fun learning in our great outdoor classroom.

Please have a look at our facebook page and website for more information.

How we make our service inclusive

I have had extensive training through my career as a primary school teacher. We are a Makaton friendly organisation. Some of our woodland sites are not 100% accessible for wheelchairs and other mobility aids due to muddy/steep/narrow paths in the woodland. Please email if you have questions.

Staff SEND experience

I have taught many children with a range of SEND

We have Makaton friendly staff

How our service supports providers / schools / colleges

The sessions are planned appropriately to suit the needs of the participants and all the sessions are catered to improve confidence, self-esteem, independence, creativity, relationships, sensory development and wellbeing.

Support at key transition points

It provides a safe setting to spend time and learn together.

Other local or national support

We are constantly communicating with the adults who care, teach and make decisions to help support all our clients.

Resolving disagreements, mediation and making complaints

We pride ourselves in developing relationships in a safe and secure outdoor environment which is non-threatening. If clients have a complaint they will need to fill in the appropriate forms on our website.
