Inclusion details

- How we make our service inclusive
This service is run in partnership with Cornwall Council providing a Targeted Youth Worker at each session, alongside a Young Persons Practitioner from Action for Children.
The venue is accessible and Action for children staff have received training in order to meet the individual needs of disabled young people.
- Staff SEND experience
Staff are trained and experienced in providing activities for disabled young people - they have specialist training in: Risk Assessment, ASD Awareness, Makaton/ alternative communication, Epilepsy awareness, lifting and moving people, safeguarding children and young people, behaviour management and intensive interaction.
Cornwall Council Targeted Youth Workers are all trained in youth work.
- How our service supports providers / schools / colleges
This partnership supports young people outside of school times and works with schools and colleges to support young people when possible.
- Support at key transition points
Staff work with parents and young people individually and through group exercises to explore different issues and topics. These are decided for termly and in partnership with the young people who attend then group to ensure that their views and wishes are respected.
- Other local or national support
Action for children also provide youth groups on a Monday night for disabled young people in Bodmin and on a Friday Night in St Blazey, Par.
Holiday activity days are delivered during the school holidays for children and young people 5 - 17 years.

- Resolving disagreements, mediation and making complaints
We ask that any concerns are reported to us first to enable us to resolve the issues quickly and effectively.
Complaints can also be made through Cornwall Council or through the Action for Children "Tell Us" form. Please contact a member of staff for more information.
