What We Offer
Promoting Independence South West is a mentoring and support service for Adults and Young People with learning difficulties, disabilities, cognitive impairments, neglect issues, drug and alcohol misuse and mental health issues.
We work with our clients both within the community, and in their own homes.
Outreach Service for Adults and Young People with diverse needs from dementia/Alzheimer's, learning disabilities/difficulties, Asperger's, alcohol and drug misuse, brain injury, stroke, self neglect and associated needs. These can include communication difficulties, autism, epilepsy, mental health and physical and sensory needs Our mission is to work with our clients not just to provide care and support, but to work in partnership to promote access into their communities, and to participate in activities that are meaningful to them.
We offer specialised support with adults with diverse and various care and support needs; to assist in you having a fulfilled life with increased independence.
How we deliver the support will be a working partnership with you and/or your chosen networks around you. The aim is to ensure that our support is driven by your aspirations/needs, and that these goals are paramount to the type of support that is provided.
Our Strengths based and person-centered approaches helps to develop independence and safety.
We work towards everyone reaching and maintaining their potential and living life to the fullest; and recognise that for many accessing our service is the time for great change!
Our service covers all of East Cornwall, Newquay and surrounding areas.
A diverse range of mentoring & support
The team's specialism covers a diverse range of mentoring/support, from managing care needs, cooking, budgeting, shopping, to accessing public transport, groups, activities out in the community, education, and any interests in voluntary and/or paid work.
Our service acknowledges that everyone is different and that what one client may consider to be an important goal towards furthering their independence, may differ significantly from others.
We have an ethos of ensuring that any care and support is tailored to your individual needs. To achieve this, we take time to get to know you and put your preferences at the centre of everything we do. You are in control of every element of your care and support, where appropriate. We empower you to live the way you want

Table of costs Amount Cost Type £24.00 Per Hour - Details
- Hourly rates will vary dependant on presenting needs/risks of each individual. £24 per hour is based on an individual with complex support needs and is our highest rate. Hourly rates will be discussed after initial consultation and assessments are undertaken with each individual and only put in place after an agreement by all parties.
