We would like to welcome you to Newquay Junior Academy. We are very proud of our school and the staff are very kind and caring. Newquay Junior Academy is a vibrant, large junior school situated in the heart of the Newquay community. The academy is minutes from the beach, Newquay Zoo, the Celtic Barrowfields and Trenance botanical gardens. Our school topics always have “WOW” moments which means we have lots of opportunities to explore our local area, go on exciting school trips and welcome interesting visitors into our academy. Sport is a very important part of our curriculum and we enjoy participating in a variety of sports during the school day and after school. We also have many opportunities to compete against other schools in Newquay and Cornwall.

Newquay Junior has 20 classrooms, a mixture of the original building, dating back to 1909 and newer developments adding on over the years. There is a library on site which pupils can borrow books from regularly, a newly built sports hall facility in 2016, and our learning hub which supports the emotional and social development of our pupils here. The outdoor space of Newquay Junior comprises of a large sports field, an award-winning wildlife garden, a trim trail for the pupils to enjoy at lunchtimes, quiet areas with bench seating, two large playgrounds and a multi-purpose sports pitch. We celebrate the many fantastic things happening each week at our celebration assembly which is run by us as Head boy and Head girl. Our school motto is, “Aim for excellence: fulfilment for all.” We will work very hard to make Newquay Junior Academy the best school in Newquay.
