Holford, Miss Stephanie
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
This is a loving home with a wide range of toys to help them meet the EYFS requirements, also activities such as arts & crafts, sensory and cooking. I attend social groups such as toddler groups and other events within the community. Also I enjoy taking the children on lovely outings such as walks to the park, woods, beach, Eden project, Heligan and pine lodge. and many more locations. When enjoying our outings we like to meet up with other local childminders. I have a safe, enclosed, hard standing back garden with some outside toys and a gazebo to help provide shelter when needed.
I am able to provide funded spaces for 2, 3, and 4 year olds. I have also registered for Tax-Free Childcare, Sodexo vouchers and Edenred vouchers. I'm willing to sign up to any voucher scheme to help parents fund childcare.
I am a member of Quality Childminding Cornwall group, Restormel Childminding and PACEY.
I have completed training to expand my knowledge and I will continue to attend courses and cluster meetings throughout the year. I have training in Safeguarding, Autism, Epilepsy, Pediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene, Healthy under 5s, Key sign and I also have level 3 in Early Years childcare. I have more training and certificates available at request.
I also have 3 years experience with learning difficulties such as autism, downs syndrome and challenging behavior.
I have a short document that I am able to email to prospective parents with pictures of my setting as I understand it is difficult to make decisions while there is uncertainty over the coronavirus. Parents can obtain this with an email request.

Early Years Local Offer response
- Systems and strategies we have in place to identify children that may require additional support
I track the children's learning and development using Tapestry. It allows you to see what your child has been doing while with me. It allows me to upload pictures and link it to the EYFS, this helps you see how well your child develops. If also helps to catch a delay in development early therefore we can make sure we tailor your child's activities to ensure they learn and thrive as much as possible.
- How we identify and support children's learning and development needs
I will be looking out for key signs and also looking at their development scale to see if they are on track. I would not consider diagnosing the child myself, I would make referrals if necessary.
If any child needs further equipment or learning aids, I would look supplying this to have them in the setting.
- Links we have to other agencies
I am happy to involve outside agencies into my setting for support if required. This will help to ensure im doing every I can for your child.
- How we support children transferring to school
I will make sure there is sufficient paperwork, that is relevant, which can be handed over to the school. I will also ensure that the child is emotionally ready and has certain skills such as recognising and writing their name.
Learning and development
- Specialist skills or training our staff have
Currently, there is only myself at the setting.
- Support we offer regarding children's health and well-being
I have a medication policy and I am able to administer medication if prescribed to that child.
I also have completed Healthy under 5's training. This helps me to be able to provide support for you and your child in main areas such as, healthy eating, dental care, mental health and wellbeing.
- Ways we inform parents about how their child is being supported
There will be a daily hand over on collection of their child. Parents will also have access to their child's online learning journey on tapestry. If parents requires additional updates, or in a specific way, we can have that discussion and I will do my best to facilitate.
- Our complaints policy
If a parent or member of the public has a complaint but does not wish to approach myself, they are able to make a complaint to Ofsted by phone, email or writing.
There is a poster displayed with instructions within the setting for those that enter my home.
Welfare
- Alterations we have made to make our building accessible
No alterations have been made.
- Facilities we have for personal care
Each child will have their own drying hand facility in the kitchen and downstairs bathroom. Nappies will be changed on a changing mat in privacy.
- Specialist resources we have
No current requirements, however I am open to acquiring any resources a child may need.
- How we include all children in activities, such as trips
I include all children in all activities, all activities can be adapted if necessary so everyone is at the same level and have the same experience.
