Cornwall Chlamydia Screening Office
Our aim is to promote awareness of chlamydia and screen the under 25 sexually active population of Cornwall.
Chlamydia is the most common STI. As many as one in twelve young people are affected.
Most people don't have any symptoms and so don't know they have it, but it can cause serious problems and even infertility.
If you are under 25, we recommend that you test at annually and 2 weeks after sex with every new partner.
You can do a Chlamydia test yourself, men pee in a pot and women take a swab. If your result is positive, treatment (a course of antibiotics) is free and easy to access.
If you are aged 15-24 you can order a free Chlamydia test ONLINE at: https://www.freetest.me. We are sorry but if you are older than 25 you are unable to use this service - please instead access free Chlamydia screening at your local GP or sexual health service.
You can also visit your local GP surgery or sexual health clinic to get a chlamydia test or full sexually transmitted infection (STI) screen.
Be sure to keep an eye out for us, across Cornwall, providing outreach and on site testing in various colleges, youth groups, sixth forms and events. Come say hi and grab a test!
