I live with my husband Chris, a fisherman & mother-in-law Ann. I have been childminding since 1993 and have 20+years experience in childcare . My aim is to produce good quality home based care for children from the age of 3 months. I encourage children to spend time outdoors whenever the weather permits. I have a large grassed area with fully equipped play house and a variety of outdoor toys including sand pit, slides, ride on cars etc. We often walk to & from the local primary school as well as walks on the beach and around the village. Occasionally we visit Seaton Countryside Park, play parks at St Germans, Crafthole, Millbrook, Landrake & Looe. Indoor activities include painting, glueing, cutting, play dough and pencil control activities. I encourage role play, music making and movement to music. Children are introduced to concepts of time, days of the week, seasonal festivities of many cultures and other everyday concepts through stories and songs. I believe in working in partnership with parents to provide the best care and support for each child in my care. Training & Qualifications: Up to date paediatric first aid, Level 2 award in food safety in catering, introducing childminding practice, developing childminding practice, extending childminding practice. Training in Autism Spectrum Disorders, various short courses related to early years, NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care & Education, Child protection awareness & Early Years Foundation Stage Training.
