I have a great deal of childcare experience, I have an NNEB qualification, I have worked in schools as a teaching assistant & been a manager of a pre-school. I have two dogs and a cat.
I make the most of the outdoors- I have an enclosed garden with a trampoline, I take the children to local toddler groups, soft play and the library etc.
I love cooking with the children, we will do baking and the children will help to prepare their own lunches.

Early Years Local Offer response

Learning and development

Systems and strategies we have in place to identify children that may require additional support

I follow the EYFS to track children's development. I record and track development using Orbit early years. Parents can accesss their child's reports and photos, if there are any concerns we can discuss it together and if we have any concerns about a child I contact The Early Help Hub, for further advice and to make referrals for additional support.

How we identify and support children's learning and development needs

I use Orbit early years to record and track children's development. If I have any concerns, I discuss with parents and if needed contact The Early Help Hub for further advice.

Links we have to other agencies

I am a member of QCC and work closely with other childminders. I am a member of Pacey.

How we support children transferring to school

I work with the parents and liaise with the child's school. With parents permission I share the child's Orbit learning journal. I can assist with taking the child to transition visits to the school.

Welfare

Specialist skills or training our staff have

I have a NNEB qualification. I am paediatric first aid trained. I have Makaton training.

Support we offer regarding children's health and well-being

I provide healthy snacks , which the children help to prepare. I ask parents to provide a well balanced packed lunch. We talk about why we need to eat healthy food and the importance of exercise. We have daily outside activities. Children are taught good hygiene practices, washing hands after going to the toilet and before eating.

Ways we inform parents about how their child is being supported

parents can access Orbit early years where they can see photos and read reports. They can also share photos from home. I always talk to parents at drop off and pick up , to feedback on the day's activities and discuss any concerns if they arise.

Our complaints policy

If parents have any complaints or concerns I am happy to discuss them. If the parent wants to discuss away from their child , then I will arrange a convenient time. I will log the complaint, along with the outcome  and respond within 28 days.

if the complaint cannot be resolved , and the parent wished to make a formal complaint to OFSTED , they contact the complaints and investigation unit.

Access

Alterations we have made to make our building accessible

Ihaven't made any alterations, as I only use the first floor of my home it is accessible.

Facilities we have for personal care

I have a downstairs toilet , changing mat and private area for changing children.

Specialist resources we have

I access the toy library which has a variety of resources.

How we include all children in activities, such as trips

I ensure that all trips and activities are suitable for all the children in my care
