Whitemoor Pre School
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

We cover all areas of learning as in the EYFS, mixed between indoor & outdoor play. Our welcome pack explains the type of provision/staffing etc.  Video clips and many photos give parents/carers a chance to see their children at play. Our comprehensive books/learning journies show children's development through play using photos and observations. We pride ourselves in having great communication with our Parents/ Carers. We achieved Outstanding in our Ofsted inspection.

Early Years Local Offer response

Learning and development

Systems and strategies we have in place to identify children that may require additional support

Through many observations and close contact with Parents/ Carers keypersons work closely with the Senco to identify any children that require extra support. Baseline assessments help us to identify early actions that might be needed.

How we identify and support children's learning and development needs

Through out using the EYFS we keep regular observations and cohort sheets on children to identify their progress. If a child needs more initial one to one support we provide this, if the child then shows they require additional support we do what ever is needed to ensure the children receive the best support they can to still achieve, feel included and be happy. Parents/ Carers are always able to feedback information, working together is of high importance to give their child the very best early years possible.

Links we have to other agencies

Speech and language therapists. Area Senco's, Pre School learning alliance.

Anyone needed through the early help hub.

How we support children transferring to school

We work closely with the teachers in Whitemoor Academy as our children feed into there. We would always work with other schools if that was needed. We always share records and learning journals. Children spend time in the school before they leave us. If children wish to attend other Schools we would also work alongside their transition plans.

Specialist skills or training our staff have

We all keep on top of training in safeguarding and child protection. We attend training sessions within our local area. Conferences are attended. Our Senco ensures staff are fully aware of children's needs. I feel our staff are very sensitive to the needs of each child. Many years of experience has given us wonderful opportunities to successfully see children achieve through our setting and on into school. We have recently attended more courses on brain development and emotion coaching. We feel that CPD is very important and update our knowledge through online courses also. Every member of staff have always been first aid trained. We are now in the process of gaining our recognition as a Healthy Under Fives setting.

Support we offer regarding children's health and well-being

Close monitoring with keyperson and senco. Regular meetings with Parents/ Carers. Children's health and well being are essential for them to progress through the early years. Daily exercise and healthy tuck.

Ways we inform parents about how their child is being supported

Meetings, learning journals which really build up a complete weekly diary of their child, lots of photo's. Tracking sheets and next steps/targets. Also our private Parents/ Carers page where they have weekly videos and photo's.

Our complaints policy

The complaints policy is on the wall in the cloakroom, and in the policy folder. Complaints are dealt with within 28 days, although if we ever received a complaint we would work together as soon as possible to resolve the situation. Procedures are set out to be followed should the need ever arise.

Alterations we have made to make our building accessible

Our elliot hut has always had two ramps to make wheelchair access available.

Facilities we have for personal care

We have a larger toilet for disabled adults/ children with support frames etc.

Specialist resources we have

Will access as and when required/appropriate

How we include all children in activities, such as trips

We would look at where we went, and how we can make it possible for all children and adults.Risk assessments are always sought first which would help us plan an enjoyable trip. Activities are made available for children's appropriate developmental stages and abilities, they always have a chance.
