Gunnislake Primary Academy Preschool
Gunnislake is a small, friendly and welcoming school. We welcome all children in the term that they turn 3. For example if a child turns 3 in December 2017 they can start in our preschool from September 2017.
Our Preschool is led by an experienced qualified teacher who is supported by a Higher Level Teaching Assistant with many years experience.
The aims of our Preschool are:
To help your child move from home to school in a happy, smooth transition.
To provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment, with a happy, welcoming atmosphere where each unique child can enjoy a wide range of learning experiences.
To encourage the children to respect themselves, each other and the environment.
To form invaluable friendships with children and positive relationships with adults, and to develop a positive attitude to learning.
We plan a wide range of activities which enable children to develop in all seven areas of learning. Children’s ideas and interests are built into this planning as are the individual needs of each child. Outside learning is highly valued and we have developed an exciting new outdoor area for the children to use. We currently provide children with opportunities to play and interact with each other in the mud kitchen, puppet theatre/shop, on the climbing frame, in the sand pit and in the digging area. They also have many opportunities to investigate and problem solve using our new water wall and guttering stands. We encourage children to develop their imagination and creativity by providing open ended play opportunities and resources. We have a variety of wheeled toys some of which enable two children to ride at the same time to encourage and develop children's communication and negotiation skills. Please take a look at our website for more information or arrange a visit to come and have a look around.
