Fortune College (Out of County - Dorset)
Fortune College is a specialist college for young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities aged 16-25. The college’s Further Education Through Horsemanship (FETH) Course offers an educational residential/day programme, working with horses, that prepares young people with learning disabilities to live as independently as possible and participate in their local community. The college provides the opportunity to achieve accredited qualifications, develop communication skills, independent living skills, self confidence and skills for working life.

Inclusion details
- How we make our service inclusive
We have high ratio of staff/student care, so are able to accept student's who would otherwise not be able to access an equine college.
- Staff SEND experience
Our staff are trained in a wide range of learning difficulties and have teaching experience in many areas of learning needs.
In house disability and learning difficulty nurse and mental health practitioner. Catering for OT and speech and language needs.

We offer day release to local school students
- Support at key transition points
Our staff work closely with students and their families. All students have a key worker/ group leader, Literacy and language coordinator and transition guide. Our staff work with the student across the board, within the main teaching and residential areas.
