Hill, Mrs Marianne
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
My family & I live in the town of Penryn, in a terraced house with a small garden. We have 3 grown up children who have left home , 6 granddaughters and a grandson. We like animals but choose not to have any, although we have regular visits from my sons dog Roxy.
I belong to the local child-minding group and attend regular meetings. We go out most mornings, either to toddler groups,Soft play ,beach, parks or just for walks, meeting up with other childminders and their children .
I trained as a nursery nurse 40 years ago. Since then I have always worked with children; in a hospital, school, pre-school and for the last 27 years as a childminder.

Early Years Local Offer response
- Systems and strategies we have in place to identify children that may require additional support
Each child has a diary showing evidence of their development, observations are recorded and linked to the EYFS, I plan activities according to the child's interests and encourage next steps
- How we identify and support children's learning and development needs
As my adult child ratio is low I have a close relationship with all the children in my care enabling me to closely observe them and meet each child's individual needs.
- Links we have to other agencies
If I have concerns, I would speak to the parent and we would together decide whether a referral needs to be made, generally this is through the child's health visitor who has links to e.g. Speech/language therapists
- How we support children transferring to school
I am happy to talk to the child's new school/ teacher if appropriate sharing their diary learning journal (with parents permission)and attending transition visits.
Learning and development
- Specialist skills or training our staff have
paediatric first aid ,food hygiene ,child protection I attend various training to keep myself up to date with the latest information and regulations
- Support we offer regarding children's health and well-being
Plenty of opportunities for exercise and fresh air, healthy eating is encouraged, facilities are provided for sleep/rest. I have a sickness policy to reduce the risk of cross infection.
- Ways we inform parents about how their child is being supported
I have close relationships with all my families and exchange information verbally and through daily diaries.
- Our complaints policy
My Ofsted complaints poster is displayed. We take all complaints seriously and have a policy which each parent has a copy to read when joining my setting. The complaint will be discussed and documented if necessary on the appropriate form sharing with the relevant people i.e.Ofsted
Welfare
- Alterations we have made to make our building accessible
my house is easily accessible through a wheelchair width door- no steps, however there is a step out the backdoor onto the patio
- Facilities we have for personal care
downstairs toilet and wash basin
- Specialist resources we have
Resources are adapted to meet the needs of the individual child i.e. highchairs, car seats, buggies, harnesses etc
- How we include all children in activities, such as trips
All children are supported and included in all activities, outings . Risk assessments are carried out and the relevant equipment is available and used.
