Eley, Mrs Jacqueline
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
I have been a childminder for 29 years, accredited for 9 years.
I have an NVQ Level 3 in childcare & education.
Level 3 Sure Start - Quality First
Level 3 childminding qualification
level three forest school leader
I enjoy providing education from the Early Years Foundation Stage education.
We do a lot of outside activities, walks & trips to the woods, parks and local farms.
Ofsted inspection October 2016 - outstanding in all areas, welfare & education - no conditions - quite an achievement I feel ! Last inspection 2016 also outstanding.
All children have files kept on them from day one. I work closely with other professionals such as primary reception teacher, childrens centre teacher, speech therapist etc.
I have two pet labrador dogs which are very quiet and friendly. However the children are never left alone with them, they do come in the house but are mainly kept in outside kennel, they do not soil the garden and are wormed & flea-controlled 3 monthly as recommended by a vet.
Opened my own Forest School - April 2012.

Early Years Local Offer response
- Systems and strategies we have in place to identify children that may require additional support
I work to the early years foundation stage. I regularly observe and monitor all children's development.to make sure they are reaching the appropriate goals for their age and stage of development. If they aren't I monitor for six weeks and then follow the appropriate actions.
- How we identify and support children's learning and development needs
I observe all children to find out what they like how they play and plan child led activities to engage their enquiring minds. I make sure the activities are developmently appropriate for the age and stage of all the children. I attend regular training on planning. I attend childminding groups and toddler groups so that all children have the opportunity to mix and learn to be a part of a group.
- Links we have to other agencies
I have worked closely with speech therapists health visitors, doctors, early years consultants and children centres teachers.
- How we support children transferring to school
Visit the school, work closely with parents and school on transition. Share information through learning journeys. Spend the summer term on being school ready.
Learning and development
- Specialist skills or training our staff have
I attend Senco training regularly. I make sure that I am up to date with relevant thinking. I would make sure I had the appropriate training to meet the needs of any particular child. I have just attended a visuals course. And a two day senco induction training course to keep me up to date.
- Support we offer regarding children's health and well-being
I am a healthy early years establishment. We visit the dentist and opticians annually.children learn about being healthy. We grow our own fruit and vegetables for snack time, we spend a lot of time outdoors to meet the governments idea that children should be active for eighty minutes a day. if a child had a particular health requirement I would make sure that I had the appropriate training. I am qualified in paediatric first aid and anacphalitic shock. I am aware of food allergens and monitor the food given to all the children. I also have a food hygiene certificate.
- Ways we inform parents about how their child is being supported
All children have learning journals where there are planning sheets and developmental charts available for them to see. If I had a child on the send register I would make sure the parents had all the up to date information they needed. I also do daily diaries for each child where all the information is put every single day.
- Our complaints policy
I have a complaints policy and procedure .All parents have a copy of they are aware of the procedure to go through if they need to make a complaint. It states that I would like them to come to me on the first instance so we could talk it through. And if this doesn't resolve the problem then I would like them to put it in writing.
- Alterations we have made to make our building accessible
I have a large front door opening and level floors - the doors are wheelchair accessible.
- Facilities we have for personal care
I have a down stairs bathroom and utility room where personal care can take place.
- Specialist resources we have
I have multicultural toys puzzles and accessories, books with positive images and stories for all children to access. If I was working with a child with a particular need of specialist equipment or resources i would make sure I had access to them.
- How we include all children in activities, such as trips
I make sure that all children are included in activities and outings by observing and planning. If I was going on a particular outing I would offer the childs parents to attend so that no children are left out. I offer activities to all children by careful planning.to make sure I have the appropriate resources and information to me.
