Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Large outdoor play areas and have regular access to the Childrens Centre adventure area now completed.
We follow the EYFS plan, arranging different activities to extend the childrens knowledge through play.

with our huge outdoor space and access to our own nursery animals we provide different aspects to working with children to promote health relationships and enjoy play 

We recently achieved 5tars healthy under 5s

We follow the Healthy Early Years (HEY) programme to ensure we offer a balanced nutritional diet.
We also have a Baby's day system, where parents can track, follow and comment on their childs progress on a daily basis.
We teach the children Makaton(childrens sign language).
We are involved with the CL Project - supporting all children with their communication.
We are also involved in Parents Early Years Learning (PEAL) which is parents involvement in learning transitioning from home to nursery.

Learning and development

Systems and strategies we have in place to identify children that may require additional support

Each child has their starting points recorded upon entry to pre-school by their key worker. all of this information is tracked by our electronic learning journey and progress system and available to all staff and parents to track development. . We will then observe and plan accordingly for these children. Development is recorded on the system weekly in line with the EYFS developmental matters and this allows us to identify any areas that may require extra support and attention. These form part of the child's learning journey which build a comprehensive picture of each child.

How we identify and support children's learning and development needs

We follow the observe, assess and plan format for all children. This way we can meet the needs of each individual child as we find them.

Links we have to other agencies

we have links with lots of local agencies which include. speech therapy, Autism workers, Senco, childrens centre teachers, Makaton Worker, local schools, Early years inclusion worker although this list is not exaustive

How we support children transferring to school

Our transition meetings are the best form of support for children transferring to the school. Our electronic system allows us to send the learning journey and key points to the teachers prior to the transition meeting


Specialist skills or training our staff have

All staff have a minimum of Level three NVQ and each member of staff has a specialism in a particular area of delivery, Special needs, Hay project, makaton, letters and sounds. The nursery manager has level 6 qualification and develops systems and programs for staff to specialise in specific areas of delivery

Support we offer regarding children's health and well-being

We offer a comprehensive system of medication and recording as well as being able to be trained for specific medicine and delivery of medication

Ways we inform parents about how their child is being supported

We will attend additional training to meet any health needs that a child may have. We keep clear medication and accident records for each child. We work within the EYFS expectations for children's health and well being.

All complaints are reported to OFSTED as required and in line with our policy which is given to all parents on induction of their child

How we include all children in activities, such as trips

Robust risk assessments are completed before trips and for everyday activities and equipment. We have a high staff to child ratio and also ask for parental support on occasions. we will try in every way to include all children with access needs for every trip we plan
