Greenslade, Miss Jo
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
My name is Jo and I provide quality childcare for babies and children in a happy, relaxed, friendly home in Truro. I enjoy working with children and my aim is to make them feel part of the family.

I am approved to providing funding. All three and four year old children are entitled to 15 and 30 hours of FREE Early Years (EY) Entitlement per week, across 38 weeks of the year, so book up if required. I also provide funding for 2 yrs old.

- Flexible childcare hours

Early Years Local Offer response
- Systems and strategies we have in place to identify children that may require additional support
I monitor children's progress using the Early Years Foundation Stage by regular observation and assessment of each individual child to identify any areas where children may need additional support.
- How we identify and support children's learning and development needs
I draw on years of experience and Early Years training courses to identify and support learning and development needs. Areas for development are usually identified through observation and assessment. Childrens 'next steps' are identified and children are supported to achieve them.
- Links we have to other agencies
I form links with other agencies as and when needed, normally starting with the individual child's health vsitor
- How we support children transferring to school
I support children transferring to school in accordance with their parents guidance. We take regular trips to the local school and have a good link with the local school.
Learning and development
- Specialist skills or training our staff have
I keep up to date with all courses including, First Aid, Food Hygiene and Safeguarding. I attend various training to keep myself up to date with the latest information and regulations.
- Support we offer regarding children's health and well-being
Children are taught good hygiene practices from an early age and understand why it is important to keep ourselves clean.
- Ways we inform parents about how their child is being supported
I use a range of methods to inform parents how their child is being supported including written records on the child's daily diary, personal discussion, photographs and emails. I invite parents to provide me with information about their child's learning at home so that I can work together to help the child's learning and development.
- Our complaints policy
I hope that you are happy with the service that I provide, but I appreciate there may be times when I am not offering you and your child the service that you require. I hope that you will feel able to discuss any concerns or issues that you may have with me directly. If you would rather not talk in front of your child then we can arrange a more convenient time, for example in the evening or at the weekend. It is a requirement by Ofsted that all complaints are logged along with the outcome and any action taken, these records must be available to show an Ofsted Childcare Inspector if required. If you feel that you are unable to talk to me, or that after talking, the matter remains unresolved then you can put your complaint in writing, I will investigate the matter and reply to you within 28 days. If you wish to make a formal complaint then you can contact the Ofsted Complaints and Investigation Unit on Tel: 0300 123 1231 or contact Ofsted at: Piccadilly Gate, Store Street, Manchester M1 2WD.
- Alterations we have made to make our building accessible
There is no downstairs toilet, so not accessible for a wheelchair or those that are unable to climb stairs.
- Facilities we have for personal care
Toilet and changing facilities.
- Specialist resources we have
I have a range of sensory toys. Resources are adapted to meet the needs of the individual child i.e. highchairs, car seats, buggies, harnesses etc.
- How we include all children in activities, such as trips
All trips are planned in advance and a risk assessment undertaken before we go to ensure that wherever we go can be enjoyed by every child. Everyone is included in everything I do.
