Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Hi let me tell you a little bit about myself and Peapods Daycare. I am married with three grown up children and three grandchildren. I will be working closely with my daughter that is also a registered childminder.Between us we have over 30 years of experience working and caring for children .Before registering as a childminder I worked for Cornwall council for 16 years this job gave me a great opportunity to get lots of experience working closely with children and their parents.

Whilst working there I completed a level 2 NVQ in childcare and a level 3 diploma in childcare and education. I currently hold an enhanced DBS,level 3 safeguarding and a paediatric first aid certificate . I have completed the incredible years parenting programme age 0-5 years, Makaton workshops, here’s looking at you 0-1 and 1-3 years. Learning language and loving it. I have attended numerous EYFS training and I also have a certificate in developmental baby massage.

We are a non-smoking household. We are also pet friendly

I have adapted my conservatory into a child friendly environment where there will be free flow access to a patio area in the garden where the children can investigate nature and enjoy numerous outdoor activities. I believe that it is important for children to have choices so I encourage free flow whenever possible.Whilst at Peapods your child will be learning new skills these include painting, cooking, singing and dancing and lots of physical and imaginary play. Your child’s play will be observed and the day will be planned around their interests.

I live a 10-minute walk from Falmouth town so will have lots of different opportunities to be out and about. We will be visiting the Library, Kimberley park and many more adventures.

Notes

I have transformed my conservatory into a child friendly environment where there will be free flow access to a patio area in the garden where the children can investigate nature and enjoy numerous outdoor activities including sand, soil and water.

I will work closely with the children labelling their emotions.

At every opportunity I will encourage the children to be outside.

Our play is based on following the child's interest and as much as possible we follow the child's lead.

I go for nature walks on a regular basis to encourage learning about our environment.

My kitchen is a great space for the children to be able to enjoy the preparation of their own snack and various cooking activities.

I have a secure front garden where we have planted various vegetables to pick and eat for snack .

I have a slide and other equipment for the children to be able to become more physically active in the garden.
