 Supporting your Study Programme

If you are aged 16-18* and on a full-time course with us, you will be participating in the Study Programme. The Study Programme has been developed because we want to help everyone leaving school become well prepared for the workplace and higher education. Our aim is to broaden your experience; combining a specialist qualification, with skills including English and mathematics as well as preparation and participation in employability.

For learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), this is an essential part of Preparing for AdulthoodWe therefore promote independence as much as possible within the study programme, resulting in bespoke approaches to supporting each individual.

*if you are aged 19+ and have an EHCP you are funded as a 16-18 Study Programme Learner.

How we make our service inclusive

All of the College computers have Claro Read software installed to enable learners who find reading or processing information a challenge, to access the same resources as their peers.  We also use the Microsoft Office 365 package that has accessibility options, such as immersive reader and speech-to-text.

Staff SEND experience

Our Additional Learning Support team are trained in supporting learners with SEND.  Amongst the team who support our learners, we have staff trained in safeguarding, Mental Health First Aid, ASSIST, TIS, Assistive Technology and Autism  awareness to name but a few.

How our service supports providers / schools / colleges

If you have an EHCP we can attend your annual reviews in year 10 and 11 to plan your transition and work closely with your school to plan your support needs in college.
