2 Minute Beach School Session
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Spend your day with us exploring our beaches, delving into rockpools and discovering our coastal habitats.
Sessions will be full of environmental based games and learning, with a whole heap of inspiration. Find out what YOU can do to protect the oceans!
Our outside classroom is naturally inspiring, ignites imagination and confidence in everyone whilst developing a love of the ocean.

Inclusion details
- How we make our service inclusive
Each session can be adapted to meet the needs of individuals or groups. We gather the relevant information on each person attending our sessions to ensure we are fully prepared to enable access to appropriate areas and ensure that individuals/groups are able and comfortable to carry out activities. We continually monitor everyone attending to ensure that they are happy and confident in any task they are completing. Persons attending always have the option of opting out of anything they feel they cannot manage.
- Staff SEND experience
As qualified teachers we have a good level of experience working with children and young people with SEND. We are confident in our approach to supporting all our attendees to ensure that they can enjoy the beach environment in a happy and productive way. We believe that it’s important to set up an effective communication with families to prepare our sessions, so they meet the needs of individuals and groups in the best way possible. We will continually adapt to meet the needs of SEND children and young adults and look towards staff training where appropriate.
- How our service supports providers / schools / colleges
We work to provide an outdoor education platform that is accessible to all, interactive and informative. We look to build working relationships with all our attendees to make sure that they truly receive the benefits provided by learning about the beach and the wider environment. We are also able to create sessions directly linked to current curriculum study so that teachers can have the ideal, relevant field trip. We would offer virtual field trips and Q and A sessions for those Schools and Colleges that may not be able to directly attend. We believe that the 2 Minute Beach School can be a place that is revisited again and again, as no two days on the beach are ever the same, in this way we feel that we can develop long lasting relationships with other educational establishments.
- Support at key transition points
Transition points are a natural part of life; however, we recognise that for some individuals/groups, they can be difficult periods. We believe that it's incredibly important to remain sensitive to anyone going through any transitional period, whatever it may be. Our sessions are built to bring out inner confidence and develop this emotion as a tool to use to foster positivity. We promote conversation and are always willing to listen to anyone suffering or in need of someone to talk too.

- Resolving disagreements, mediation and making complaints
We understand that disagreements may occur, however, it is vital that they remain civil as we have zero tolerance to bullying or harassment. We promote team building exercises to show the importance of how effective teamwork is essential for improving relationships and building mutual respect.
We look towards open conversations where everyone’s opinion can be heard, we look to develop an atmosphere, as we believe that everyone has the right to express themselves and feel comfortable at our sessions.
If any individual or group has a complaint about our service, they can email us directly and we will do our best to alleviate the complaint they have. We are willing to continually learn and develop to ensure that we deliver the best we can.
