Early Years Local Offer response
- Systems and strategies we have in place to identify children that may require additional support
At initial introductions and settling in sessions I will obtain as much information from the parent about the child's stages of development. Parents will need to complete a starting points sheet for their child and an All about me sheet. The information will give me a starting point of where the child is in the prime areas of development.
- How we identify and support children's learning and development needs
Through observations I can make an assessment and identify next steps to further their development.
- Links we have to other agencies
Health visitor, Speech & Language Therapy, Family Information Service. Senco network meetings. Early help hub.
Any concerns or additional needs would be discussed in depth with the parents before seeking professional advise/support.
- How we support children transferring to school
I will work closely with the child and parent to develop their independent skills needed to transition into school. For example- gripping a pen/pencil, using a knife/fork, being able to put on their own coat and zip/button up, use the toilet correctly, wash and dry hands. I will support their letter and number learning. I will help them to gain the confidence to be able to ask questions when needed.
