Early Years Local Offer response
- Systems and strategies we have in place to identify children that may require additional support
We continually observe and monitor the children's progress using a range of tools such as the Early Years Outcomes and the Every Child A Talker sheet. Each term we share the child's learning journey with the parent/carer, and share any concerns we may have.
- How we identify and support children's learning and development needs
If we have any concerns we will discuss with the parents how we would all be able to support the child with their progress and if necessary we will refer to outside agencies for additional support.
- Links we have to other agencies
We work closely with the Childrens Centre Teachers, S & L Therapists, Health Visitors, Social Care, our Local Area Inclusion Team as well as other schools and settings in our area.
- How we support children transferring to school
We liaise with the relevant schools and offer the teachers an opportunity to visit the setting to meet the children. We believe this gives the teachers a true picture of the child as they are in a setting in which they feel comfortable.
We take pictures of the schools and obtain a sweatshirt from each one to share and talk about with the children.
