Wild Camp Training Programme for NEET Young Women (18-24)
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

A six week (1 day a week) programme for young women to develop kayak/canoe/SUP paddling skills, campfire cooking skills and learn basic expedition skills.

It is an empowering programme looking to boost emotional literacy (motivation, self-belief, confidence, self-regulation, empathy and social skills).

The last week culminates in a wild camp adventure that the group of young women have helped to plan themselves.

The young women are referred onto the course if they meet the following criteria;

  • N.E.E.T (not in education, employment or training) or at-risk of becoming NEET
  • Female
  • 16-24
  • Comfortable around the water
  • Able to spend long periods of time away from toilet facilities
