Learn Your Way
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
We are a small provision offering post 16 programme of study for young people funded by Adult Education aged 16-24 and who have an Education, Health and Care Plan.
Students spend 3 days a week with us, 2 days in the classroom and 1 day as community engagement/work experience. Additional 2 day Enrichment activity is also available subject to funding.
We operate out of two sites, Penhaligon House in Truro and The Penwith Centre in Penzance.
We have been running this programme for the past 7 years and all students have progressed onto either more independence in their lives or trainees elsewhere. This programme has expanded and is able to offer more variety in the way of work experience including an enterprise programme and access to a range of community projects.
In addition, we have a programme of Supported Internships and Work Experience which is a progression from the programme of study or can be a stand alone for 1 year ( Work Your Way )
We provide learning support assistants to ensure that your child has the right level of support they need.

Inclusion details
- How we make our service inclusive
All venues have ramps or lifts in place and have disabled toilets.
- Staff SEND experience
All staff will possess a level 2 certificate in learning support as a minimum.
All will have DBS checks and will complete safeguarding and prevent training.
Some may have previous experience of working with young people with SEND.
- How our service supports providers / schools / colleges
We are an independent specialist provision which offers an alternative to large colleges. We are a small provision and only take between 8 and 15 students per programme per year in a highly supported environment.
We offer a blended learning programme of classroom and work experience to in order to enable young people to progress either into work, volunteering, further education or more independent living.
- Support at key transition points
We attend as many transition events as possible within local schools.
We also work with CSW and Adult Social Care as standard when students are due to leave our programme as well as identifying early on what their next steps may be. With that in mind we ensure that we hold our own transition event to support their next steps.
- Other local or national support
- Resolving disagreements, mediation and making complaints
Complaints can come directly to us. If this is not satisfactory/possible then there is a complaints procedure that sits within Adult Education.
