Callington Primary School
Services and organisations that have the Local Offer flash have filled out inclusion information, meaning that they meet the needs of people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Callington Primary School is part of The Duchy Academy Trust, working closely alongside Boyton and Lewannick Primary Schools.
Approximately 400 children come to Callington and we have almost 40 members of staff. There are two classes per year group and staff in these plan together. Even though Callington is a large school, it is very friendly. We find that new children settle quickly and soon love being here. Staff always try to make learning exciting; for example, we work outdoors when we can, learning is generally active and no one has time to get bored!
We try to work hard with all parents and carers. There are formal evenings where you have the opportunity to talk to teachers about your child’s progress. You will receive a mid-year and end of year report on your child’s progress. Every class presents an assembly to the whole school and parents/carers are invited to these. In addition, all children participate in larger scale performances; infants in their Nativity play, years’ 3 and 4 presenting a Harvest celebration, Year 5 lead an Easter presentation and the end of Year 6 is marked with a huge production, recently ‘The Lion King' and 'Aladdin'.
